The same people your neighbours call.
Borked PC has protected family computers for 22 years, from a shop in Bangor, PA. Most of what we do is stopping the scam, the lockout and the lost photos from happening at all. When something has already gone wrong, we fix that too.
Call (610) 599-6195 →What we keep off your machines
Most of this never reaches you.
- 01The popup that tells you to call a numberThat is a scam, every time, and it is the most common thing we see. Protection on the machine stops most of them arriving. If one gets through, you call us instead of the number.
- 02The thing that locks your files and asks for moneyIt reaches families the same way it reaches companies, and a household rarely has a copy of anything. Keeping it off the machine is the whole job, which is why we would rather set this up before you need it.
- 03Updates that quietly stopped runningMost home machines are a year or two behind and nobody knows. We keep them current, because almost everything above gets in through something that was already fixed.
- 04Somebody else getting into an accountEmail, banking, the photos. We sort out how the machine is protected and tell you plainly what to change, without a lecture about passwords.
We look after home computers on an ongoing basis: protection, updates, and someone to call. Ask us what that looks like for your household.
And when it has already happened
Bring it in. We’ll tell you straight.
- 01It’s slow, or it won’t startTune-ups, repairs, and a straight answer about whether a machine is worth fixing. If it isn’t, we’ll say so rather than sell you a repair.
- 02I think I’ve lost my photosData recovery and transfer. Bring the computer, or the drive it was on. Often it’s recoverable, and we’ll tell you straight if it isn’t.
- 03I bought a new computer and don’t want to set it upNew computer setup, with everything moved across from the old one so nothing is left behind, and protection on it before you start using it.
How it works
By appointment, so you’re not waiting around.
Call and we’ll book you a time to drop off or bring the machine in. A lot of things we can do without you leaving the house at all. We’ll tell you which yours is when you describe it.
We look after households across Bangor, Pen Argyl, Wind Gap, Nazareth, Easton, Bethlehem and Allentown, and the wider Lehigh Valley.
Run a business as well? What we do for companies is a different thing entirely. We take on the whole security and continuity job, so the owner never has to think about it.
